In this period, high school professor Đorđe Gavrilović played a significant role, who in 1912 initiated the organization of the first official matches among high school students, thus laying the foundations for the further development of sports in the city.
Already at the end of the First World War, between 1918 and 1919, the Zemun Sports Club (ZEŠK) was founded. However, the club soon split into two parts.
